The rules that govern your use of DriveDir. Please read carefully — using the site means you agree to them.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of drivedir.com and any related services (together, the "Service") operated by DriveDir ("DriveDir", "we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
DriveDir is a directory and booking-request service. We list verified Nigerian car rental companies and pass your booking enquiry to the company you select. DriveDir does not own vehicles, employ drivers, rent cars, or process rental payments.
Any rental contract is formed directly between you and the rental company you book ("the Provider"). The Provider is solely responsible for the vehicle, driver, pricing, fulfilment, insurance, deposits, refunds, and any rental-related claims. DriveDir is not a party to the rental agreement and does not guarantee a Provider's performance.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Nigerian law (or the law of your country of residence) to use the Service. By using DriveDir you represent that you meet these requirements.
You may use most of DriveDir without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@drivedir.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
If a Provider doesn't deliver as promised, please tell us at hello@drivedir.com or via WhatsApp. We can help escalate, may mediate informally, and may remove a Provider from the directory if they repeatedly fail quality checks. We are not, however, obliged to issue refunds for amounts paid to a Provider.
Prices shown on DriveDir are indicative, supplied by the Providers, and may change. The final price is whatever you and the Provider agree at the time of booking. Payment is made directly to the Provider — DriveDir does not collect, hold or process rental payments. You should obtain a receipt or written confirmation from the Provider for any amount you pay them.
DriveDir is free for customers — there are no booking fees, and the price you see is the price you pay directly to the Provider. DriveDir earns from a commission (currently 5%) charged to listed Providers on confirmed bookings; this is borne by the Provider, not added on top of the customer's price. We reserve the right to update commission rates and to introduce other optional paid features in future, with reasonable notice before any change in customer-facing pricing takes effect.
We make a reasonable effort to verify the companies we list — including business registration, fleet details, and customer feedback — but we don't guarantee the accuracy of every listing detail (such as exact fleet, current pricing, or up-to-the-minute availability). Companies that repeatedly fail quality checks are removed.
You may submit reviews of companies you have used. By submitting a review you confirm that:

When you use DriveDir, you agree not to:
If you book a self-drive rental, you must hold a valid driver's licence and comply with all road traffic laws and the Provider's rental terms.
If you list your fleet on DriveDir as a Provider, additional terms apply:
The DriveDir name, logo, website design, content (other than user-submitted content and Provider-supplied content), and underlying software are owned by DriveDir or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute or create derivative works from the Service without our written permission, except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.
Logos and brand names of the rental companies in our directory remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to identify the listed Providers.
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law. DriveDir does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that listings, prices, ratings or other information are complete or accurate.
DriveDir does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, performance, vehicle condition, driver conduct, or punctuality of any Provider. Any dealings between you and a Provider are at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DriveDir, its directors, employees and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or other intangible losses, arising from or related to your use of the Service or any rental booked through it.
Without limiting the above, DriveDir's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you have paid DriveDir for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim (which is typically zero), and (b) ₦20,000.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DriveDir, its directors, employees and contractors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from (i) your breach of these Terms, (ii) your misuse of the Service, (iii) content you submit (including reviews), and (iv) your dealings with any Provider (including any rental, dispute or accident).
You may stop using DriveDir at any time, and may delete your account by emailing hello@drivedir.com. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) will survive.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. For material changes we will provide a more prominent notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue.
